Our students enjoyed a visit from the Mobile Dairy and Stella, the dairy cow, today. It was Stella's second day on the job and she helped our students learn about dairy cows, dairy products, and many other things. They were amazed to learn that she eats about 40 lbs. of food each day and weighs about 900 lbs. too! Thank you Mrs. Briscoe for inviting Mobile Dairy to come see us!

Fifth grade students have spent the last quarter studying earth's systems, how they interact, and what we can do to keep Earth healthy. Students recently presented their research to classmates showing how Earth's systems interact in different environments. Then students made terrariums representing enclosed mini-ecosystems that rely on photosynthesis and the water cycle to self-sustain.

Smart servings in nutrition are key to maintaining a healthy diet and managing weight. By understanding appropriate portion sizes, you can enjoy a variety of foods while ensuring you get the right balance of nutrients. This approach encourages mindful eating, helping you recognize hunger cues and make better choices. Incorporating smart servings not only supports your health goals but also fosters a positive relationship with food, allowing you to savor meals without overindulging. Remember, it's not just what you eat, but how much you eat that matters!

March is National Nutrition Month, a time to focus on the importance of making informed food choices and developing healthy eating habits. This year's theme encourages individuals to celebrate the benefits of a balanced diet, explore new foods, and understand the role nutrition plays in overall health and well-being. Let’s use this month to educate ourselves, share knowledge, and inspire each other to make healthier choices that can lead to a vibrant and active lifestyle!

Our Whitebead Art students are enjoying the generous donation of acrylic paints recently gifted to them from Pauls Valley artist Carrie Daly. In addition to the paints, Carrie donated a car load of canvases and a variety of other exciting supplies we look forward to using soon. An interesting coincidence is that on the very same day, a second donation was received from the family of Elisa Mynheir. Those donations included several boxes of new tempera paints, brushes and canvases. What a lucky day for Whitebead Art! We appreciate each of these families for supporting our Whitebead artists. Thank you!
