✈️ Gifted & Talented Students Take Flight with Drones! Our Gifted & Talented students had an exciting opportunity to learn about drones and even try flying them! A big thank you to Cody Barton and Chris Willoughby from the Professional Resource Outreach Department at Mid America Technology Center for bringing this hands-on experience to our school. Students learned about the many careers that use drone technology and how drones are used in different industries. After learning the basics, they got the chance to take the controls and try flying the drones themselves! 🚁

🥧 Whitebead Celebrates Pi Day Early!🥧 Whitebead students enjoyed celebrating Pi Day a little early today since the official day is tomorrow, 3/14! Classes celebrated the math holiday in the best way possible—by eating pie while learning about the famous number π. A big thank you to Deborah Ely, a former Whitebead teacher, for generously donating the pies for our celebration. We appreciate her continued support of our school and for helping make the day extra sweet for our students! 🥧📚✨

Yesterday, Mrs. Beam’s class celebrated Pi Day and was visited by a leprechaun! 🍀

Mrs. Beam's class has been having a blast exploring the Alive Studios Zoo: Letters Alive Zookeeper Program! 🦭 Using their iPads, students were able to bring the zoo to life and watch Sergio the Seal in action right in their classroom. The excitement and engagement from the kids have been amazing!

A big thank you to the Paul's Valley Foundation for Academic Excellence for awarding the grant that made this fun and interactive learning experience possible.

This week, the students are excited to share the experience with Mrs. Hayes’ class as well!

Our 8th grade students had the opportunity to visit Mid America Technology Center for a Career Fair today! Students explored the many programs and career pathways available to them during high school. From hands-on technical fields to specialized training programs, it was a great chance for them to see the possibilities and start thinking about their future interests. Experiences like this help our students begin connecting their learning today with the opportunities available to them tomorrow!

PTO has scheduled a meeting for tomorrow, Tuesday, March 10th at 3:30pm to discuss rescheduling the Bean & Tamale Supper. Please be in attendance if possible. Thank you!

Book Fair extended -- Monday morning only!

🚶‍♀️📖🚶‍♂️Our first Storytime in Motion display, "Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!" by Mo Willems, has been moved indoors due to forecasted weather conditions and is ready for readers!

This story begins at the front door and continues down the hallway to the library. We hope families can take a few minutes to enjoy this fun book together during parent/teacher conferences.

🫘🫔 UPDATE 🫔🫘 We are so sorry to share that due to the current boil advisory and the severe weather expected on Friday, we have made the difficult decision to postpone our Bean Supper Fundraiser. The safety of our families, volunteers, and community comes first, and we want to make sure everyone can attend and enjoy the event safely. We truly appreciate all the support, donations, and time that so many of you have already given to help make this event possible. We will share a new date as soon as it is confirmed. Thank you all for your understanding and continued support.

Due to the water boil advisory from the city of Paul's Valley, Whitebead Schools will move to a virtual day tomorrow. There will be a packet pick up from 9am- 10:30am tomorrow. Parent/Teacher Conferences will go on as scheduled. All other Whitebead events for Friday at this time will continue as scheduled until we receive more information. We are sorry about the inconvenience and late notice.

Mr. Vines’ 8th Grade Algebra class put their data skills to work this week! 📊 Students created a scatter plot comparing height and foot size to see if there was a correlation. It was a fun, real-life way to explore relationships between variables and practice graphing skills. Hands-on math makes learning stick — great job, Algebra students! 👏

Smart serving means being mindful of portion sizes and nutritional value! 🍽️ By offering appropriate amounts, we can prevent overeating and encourage healthier habits. Include a variety of fruits, veggies, and whole grains for better flavor and nutrition. Let’s practice smart serving for healthier choices and improved well-being!
