🍁 Wishing Our Whitebead Families a Wonderful Thanksgiving Break! 🦃 As we head into the holiday, we want to say how truly thankful we are for each and every one of our Whitebead families. 6th Grade Art students are currently learning about art from various North American cultures and how each culture is reflected in it’s art. So far they have each designed their own section of a collaborative totem pole painting, created nature leaf collages, wove their own God’s Eyes with yarn and sticks and here they are posing with their clay Face Jugs. This is a part of this year’s school wide Art from Around the World focus. Thank you to PVFAE for additional books and art supplies to further supplement our Art from Around the World projects!

Middle school students have been enjoying Chamber Theatre productions of the short stories they have been studying in class. Thank you, Pauls Valley Foundation for Academic Excellence, for making this opportunity possible!

Preschool was creative today in PE with Coach Johnson! We made turkeys!

Some of our amazing middle school writers attended the Oklahoma Writing Project Fall Conference at Oklahoma City University on November 4th.

Our 7th graders explored chemical reactions and polymers by creating their own synthetic gel worms!

Mrs. Day’s Pre-K students had a blast trying out their new “Light Up Our Learning” manipulatives, funded by the Pauls Valley Foundation for Academic Excellence! For today’s Fun Friday activity, they loved explored colorful bugs—sorting them into groups and creating patterns. 🐞✨

In 7th grade Computer Science, students got to explore the qualities of a good system for representing information by creating their own systems. They learned that computers represent information using either “on” or “off”, and were introduced to the ASCII system for representing text using binary symbols. Students practiced using this system before encoding their own messages using ASCII.

This letter went home yesterday. If you want to eat Thanksgiving Lunch with your child on Friday, November 21st, please send the letter & your money to school no later than this Thursday, November 13th. Thank you!!

The Whitebead 7/8 Grade basketball tournament was a great success this week. Great job to all the teams, players and coaches. We are proud to announce the Whitebead Lady Chiefs are the Tournament Champions and our Chiefs won 3rd place. Congratulations Chiefs and Coach Hamilton for a successful start to the season! Thank you to everyone who helped make this tournament possible. See you all Monday night as we cheer on the Chiefs vs. Middleburg!

Whitebead School would like to honor the veterans in our students’ families at our upcoming Veteran’s Day Assembly!
We invite students and families to invite their Veteran family members to attend and be recognized for their service and sacrifice.

The Dino bus is running behind this morning. We apologize for any inconvenience. Students will still be able to eat breakfast before going to class.

Due to a water leak Whitebead Schools will be closed Wednesday November 5th for repairs. We apologize for any inconvenience this will cause our parents and guardians. Updates will go out as more information is obtained.
