For Immediate Release:
WHITEBEAD PUBLIC SCHOOL TO FEED EVERY STUDENT A FREE MEAL EVERY DAY
Whitebead Public School has partnered with a non profit called 'FEED THE KIDS' to feed a 3rd meal of the day for the 2024-25 school year. The meal is paid for through a USDA program called the Child and Adult Care Food Program 'CACP' and administered by the Oklahoma State Department of Education Child Nutrition. Feed the Kids is an official Sponsor for CACFP and helps the school to administer the program. Schools are able to feed all of their students a free/nutritious meal at the end of each day. We are using a Southeast Oklahoma Company, KTC Distribution and their product "MUNCHITS" for ou r meal. The meals are very convenient and easy to handle. "These meals follow the USDA guidelines and are reimbursable through the state," stated Cathy Alley, Child Nutrition Director for Whitebead Public School. Superintendent Jason Midkiff stated, "We are very excited to be able to feed all of our students a free meal each day. The parents don't have to worry about filling out any paperwork and all the student has to do is eat a meal. Kids are hungry at the end of the day and this is a way that the school can help each student to stay food secure.
"This institution is an equal opportunity provider."
